Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

The 12th of August saw the 3rd annual Charity Dragon Boat Race Organised by Cannock Rotary Club. This years Charty was the Staffordshire Air Ambulance and with over 20 teams Involved the hope was to raise around £30,000. For the first year Chasewater Entered thier own team of fine athletes, to row the dragon boat 250 metres over 3 qualifying Heats, and with much sucess they actually made it through the finals but due to a bit of a collision in the final heat ended up finishing in second place.

Well done everyone hope to see you all back next year which promises to be even bigger and better

1st Kids Comp of the year

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

The windiest Saturday of the year so far saw the start of the Kids Competition season at Chasewater.Force 5 conditions led to the cancellation of the slalom competition, with kneeboarding added to the wakeboarding at the last minute.

Using the new Superair Nautique, over 25 kids braved the conditions and fought to complete their sets in the few stretches of flat water available.

After some great performances by the Chasewater competitors, Ryan Birch won the wakeboard competition, and Craig Morris took the overall prize. Jeff Haddon came third in the kneeboarding, and Scott Quinn took the honours in kneeboard trick.

The day’s competition was followed by a fantastic sell-out Race Night in the clubhouse to raise funds for the Kids Coaching.  Almost £300 was raised on the night and many members took the opportunity to camp over.

Don’t forget - the first Saturday kids coaching session starts at 10am on 2 June 2007 – contact Debbie Barker for more information.
